HashiCorp Architect

The HashiCorp Architect will be a subject matter expert in building solutions utilizing HashiCorp products (Terraform, Vault, Consul, and Packer).  This person will have a strong understanding of Software Development, Automation, and Orchestration Technologies. In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience working as a software engineer.  You will be an automation master and you are familiar with deployment tools such as Vagrant, Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, Saltstack, and Ansible.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with DevOps and cloud infrastructure architects and engineers to design, implement and manage secure, scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure environments
  • Lead engagements with customers in selecting, implementing, and tuning configuration management technology platforms
  • Lead engagements with customers to validate and troubleshoot existing Continuous Integration and Configuration Management practices, and make recommendations for improvements and optimization
  • Lead engagements with customers to validate existing infrastructure security, performance, availability, and make recommendations for improvements and optimization
  • Expert with deploying and configuring Vault and/or Terraform Enterprise in a highly-available environment
  • Ability to support day-2 operations for Terraform Enterprise and/or Vault Enterprise including tasks like backup, monitoring, and adoption

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 10+ years of relevant, engineering experience in a large enterprise environment
  • 5+ years experience with HashiCorp Enterprise tools (Terraform, Vault, Consul)
  • Cloud infrastructure expertise (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated technical leadership
  • Linux System Administration, ideally CentOS, Red Hat or SuSE
  • Experience operating and maintaining production systems in a Linux and public cloud environment
  • Familiar with on-prem VMware deployments desirable
  • Strong working experience with Windows Server and PowerShell
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP protocols and applications
  • Great communication skills coupled with a strong desire for personal development and learning
  • Understanding of PKI systems desirable
  • Ability to write Terraform code and Vault/Terraform policies
  • Good understanding of distributed systems
  • Client relationship skills imperative
  • Understanding of scaling technologies and solutions
  • Comfortable designing, implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift or other container infrastructure
