AHEAD CLIMBS LIST OF CHICAGO’S TOP PRIVATELY HELD COMPANIES

AHEAD ranks #60 among Chicago’s Largest Privately Held Companies according to Crain’s Chicago’s 2021 report. This marks a 16-spot climb from 2020’s list where AHEAD ranked #76.

Businesses on the 2021 list are ranked based on 2020 GAAP revenue. According to Crain’s, combined revenue for the 366 listed companies grew at 4.1% in 2020, although local employment at the organizations fell by 1.1%. AHEAD revenue grew by 31% and Chicago area employment grew by 18%.

It is important to note that Crain’s cites GAAP numbers which for AHEAD, does not include certain categories of revenue such as maintenance and finder’s fees. GAAP revenue also does not include pro forma revenues for companies acquired in 2020 for time periods before the acquisition. Including these categories, AHEAD’s 2020 revenue was $2.1B.
